Three schools – Four degrees

ONE CAMPUS

Every house needs stones that build on each other, a clockwork gears that mesh. The DDBC has something of both. The focus is on young people with their natural curiosity for new challenges.

Our educational campus truly lives up to its name, because individual education is our top priority. The campus offers all opportunities for advancement. So it is possible to change effortlessly to another type of school with the appropriate qualifications. And this is done without parents having to think about new logistics. And without stress for the students. Everything stays as it was: same place, familiar faces, well-known processes. And the contact with school friends is not lost.

Life is learning. And learning means living.

We from the DBBC are rearranging the school differently. Because we care with our hearts and souls for the young people entrusted to us. In order to prepare the individuals optimally for their lives, from our point of view, it is not enough just to convey pure knowledge and to work out syllabi. We are convinced that it is the combination of formal and informal education, which reflects the different facets of life and society, that provides the appropriate tools for (professional) life.

The campus takes the social demands of full-time, institutionalized education and care seriously. The school is understood as a holistic living space, and not just as a half-day classroom. This concept requires all participants to be involved: students, parents, teachers and school staff. We, at the DBBC value uniqueness and specifically promote individuality. At the same time, community spirit is very important to us. That is why we have created a modern living space on the campus, which is based on the individual talents and needs of the young people entrusted to us.

Marcus Schmidt

CEO DBBC, Member of School Management
“The biggest mistake you can make in your life is to be always afraid of making a mistake.” — Dietrich Bonhoeffer

The quotation by the school‘s eponym is the solid foundation of Marcus Schmidt’s work. It reflects his deep conviction that being confident and open-openminded is of utmost importance when dealing with the challenges of the modern world. One of these challenges in the age of globalisation is the need for international understanding. Against this backdrop, he is a great proponent of the exchange between Rockwoods High School and the DBBC in order to lay a small tile in the mosaic of understanding among people.

Nina Köppel

Ms Nina Köppel is the principal of DBBC Mittelschule. She turns her attention to a close communication with her students and their parents in order to provide as much support as possible to the young people entrusted to her. She is very interested in cultural exchanges and has already lived and taught in Cairo / Egypt for some years. She knows the advantages of gaining insight into foreign peoples and their cultures and, as a result, expanding their own horizons. Therefore, she strives to make it possible for as many of her own students as possible to gain diverse experience in this field.

David Müller

Principal of the DBBC Academy, Member of School Management
David Müller is the principal of the newly founded DBBC Academy and the contact person for international partners of the DBBC.

The DBBC Academy offers young people from different cultural backgrounds the opportunity to develop proficiency in German language skills which enable them to pursue a career in Germany, be it as a student or on the job market. David Muller trod similar paths earlier by studying in Italy and later working in Canada. In this context, he got to know the benefits of an international exchange and wants to help young people when making experiences abroad that will enrich their life forever.
